Israel stocks lower at close of trade; TA 25 down 0.72%

Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Insurance, Biomed and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 fell 0.72%.

The best performers of the session on the TA 25 were Strauss Group (TA:STRS), which rose 3.38% or 176 points to trade at 5378 at the close. Meanwhile, Elbit Systems (TA:ESLT) added 1.89% or 640 points to end at 34490 and Ormat Technologies (TA:ORA) was up 1.36% or 190 points to 14160 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Perrigo (TA:PRGO), which fell 4.94% or 2970 points to trade at 57170 at the close. ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TA:ICL) declined 1.80% or 35 points to end at 1905 and Melisron (TA:MLSR) was down 1.75% or 230 points to 12880.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 205 to 125 and 121 ended unchanged.

Shares in Perrigo (TA:PRGO) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.94% or 2970 to 57170. Shares in Elbit Systems (TA:ESLT) rose to all time highs; up 1.89% or 640 to 34490. Shares in ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TA:ICL) fell to 5-year lows; down 1.80% or 35 to 1905.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.04% or 0.85 to $42.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.95% or 0.88 to hit $45.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.69% or 7.40 to trade at $1074.20 a troy ounce.

USD/ILS was down 0.33% to 3.8639, while EUR/ILS fell 0.27% to 4.1120.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 99.73.
