The Dhaka Stock Exchange authorities believe the fund for the Padma bridge can be collected from the stock market. DSE president Rakibur Rahman thinks there will be no shortage of investors for such a stock. "We have to think of all kinds of alternatives for Padma bridge...exploit every possible sources of fund. The stock market can be a big source of such funds," Rahman told bdnews24.com on Saturday. "I think the Padma bridge can be turned into a company and a portion of the funds can be collected from the stock market.
The government will be able to raise funds very quickly and start the
construction work," he added. Asked whether fund can be raised from the
market in current condition, he said, "There is an enthusiasm among
people to help build the bridge. People from all walks of life want to
contribute. I believe the investors will feel proud buying shares to
help build Padma bridge," he said.
