5 IPOs to get SEC approval on public subscription

FE Report

The securities regulator is set to permit five companies, some of whose public subscription were postponed earlier, to go for subscription following the proposal of respective companies, officials said.

The companies, which can start public subscription in near future are: Argon Denims, Summit Purbanchol Power Company, Envoy Textiles, Sunlife Insurance and Global Heavy Chemicals.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) earlier approved the IPO (initial public offering) proposals of these five companies to offload shares under fixed price method.

But afterwards the regulator postponed the public subscriptions of the companies considering the lackluster performance of the primary market.

The SEC officials said the five companies have become interested to go for public subscription following a good response from investors' end to the shares of a company, which recently has completed its public subscription.

The public subscription of Generation Next Fashions was around 17 times of the total number of market lots.

The SEC officials said the regulator is likely to permit the Summit Purbanchol Power Company, Argon Denims and Envoy Textiles to start their public subscription as early as possible.

Meanwhile, the officials of Summit Purbanchol Power Company said they want to start public subscription from November 11 this year.
