Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) is going to set up an 'incubator' next month to support new entrepreneurs for starting their business.
The move was taken as part of the DCCI's initiative of hunting 2,000 fresh entrepreneurs across the country by this year.
"The incubator will provide different facilities including office, conference room and computers etc to the new entrepreneurs so that they can smoothly start their business," DCCI president Md Sabur Khan told the FE Wednesday.
"When they will gear up their business under the chamber's incubator, they will take their own offices and build other infrastructure," he said.
Though there is such a facility named 'knowledge centre' at the DCCI, the incubator that will replace the centre will have wide range of facilities and supports in this connection, Mr Khan said.
The chamber in late May this year announced its ambitious plan of hunting or creating 2,000 entrepreneurs across the country within five months from June 15 in association with Bangladesh Bank, and giving financial and other supports to them.
To materialise the move, apart from the incubator, the DCCI will also launch a 'help desk' at the chamber in the middle of next month to provide all out supports to the entrepreneurs in different sectors.
Various categories of supports at the held desk include facilitation in getting bank loan and making business proposal etc.
"The entrepreneurs can also get registrations of their new companies at the DCCI. As one of its functions, the help desk will facilitate them to do so," the chamber president said.
In this connection, the DCCI and the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) have already signed a deal, he said.
Under its supports to the fresh entrepreneurs, the DCCI has already launched a website-- www.business.org.bd, Mr Khan added.
To expose these 2000 entrepreneurs to the local and global arenas, DCCI will organise a mega exposition "DCCI Entrepreneurship and Innovation Expo-2013" on November 1 and 2, 2013. The expo will showcase innovative projects of the new entrepreneurs, creating opportunities for the local and global communities.
