MUMBAI, Jan 19 (PTI): Helped by a smart uptick in the market value of
Infosys, the combined market capitalisation of top-six Sensex companies
surged Rs 320.64 billion last week.
Four companies -- TCS, Coal India, Wipro and Bharti Airtel -- saw decline in their market-cap. On the other hand, six companies, including Infosys, RIL and HDFC witnessed rise in their value in an overall positive stock market.
IT major Infosys' m-cap surged Rs 102.88 billion to Rs 2140.78 billion. Infosys had on January 10 declared its earnings where it posted a 21.4-per cent rise in net profit and raised its revenue growth outlook for this financial year as improving US and European economies revive demand for outsourcing services.
After Infosys, RIL saw the maximum jump in its value which rose by Rs 89.35 billion to Rs 2858.42 billion.
Mortgage lender HDFC's value soared Rs 62.99 billion to Rs 1310.38 billion, while ONGC added Rs 31.66 billion to Rs 2459.70 billion.
