American Life Insurance Company (MetLife Alico) - one of the leading insurance companies in Bangladesh - announced Thursday that it is rebranding to "MetLife". This rebrand re-emphasizes the company's commitment to the country and reflects MetLife's global expertise and brand strength. However the registered name of the company (American Life Insurance Company) remains the same. In a town hall meeting, M. Nurul Islam, MetLife's Regional Senior Vice President and Head of South Asia, officially announced the change in brand name effective from January 1, 2015, to the company's senior officials and other associates, said a statement. M. Nurul Islam said in his speech, "To be a truly world class company in the insurance industry, we strive to distinguish our company by aligning it with a distinct brand identity that is recognizable around the world. This rebranding initiative in Bangladesh is aimed at bringing the company under the single 'MetLife' brand name and strengthens our bond with a world class organization with a global footprint and financial expertise, and ensures our promise in delivering insurance products that supports and meets the needs of Bangladeshi consumers across all their life stages." He also added, "One of MetLife's strategic cornerstones is focused on driving toward a global brand and customer centricity, and our rebrand is an important step towards achieving that global vision to be One MetLife."
