Denmark stocks higher at close of trade; OMX Copenhagen 20 up 1.40%

Denmark stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Copenhagen, the OMX Copenhagen 20 gained 1.40% to hit a new 3-months high.

The best performers of the session on the OMX Copenhagen 20 were A.P. Moller - Maersk A (CO:MAERSKa), which rose 3.82% or 390 points to trade at 10590 at the close. Meanwhile, A.P. Moller - Maersk B (CO:MAERSKb) added 3.55% or 370 points to end at 10780 and Danske Bank A/S (CO:DANSKE) was up 3.10% or 5.7 points to 189.5 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were TDC A/S (CO:TDC), which fell 0.24% or 0.09 points to trade at 37.09 at the close. DSV (CO:DSV) declined 0.18% or 0.5 points to end at 274.6 and FLSmidth & Co. (CO:FLS) was up 0.23% or 0.6 points to 256.7.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange by 97 to 68 and 8 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.89% or 0.37 to $42.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $44.90 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.64% or 6.80 to trade at $1063.00 a troy ounce.

USD/DKK was up 0.27% to 7.0616, while EUR/DKK fell 0.00% to 7.4604.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 100.28.
