The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw downturn while the Chittagong Stock
Exchange (CSE) witnessed positive trend in early hour of trading on
Tuesday amid choppy trading. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down
by 15.47 points or 0.33 per cent to reach at 4,592.57, after first 30
minutes of the trade when the report was filed at 11am though first 15
minutes was in the positive territory. The two other indices also saw
negative trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 8.39 points
or 0.47 per cent to reach at 1,748.42. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) shed
5.15 points or 0.46 per cent to stand at 1,105.37. DSE turnover stands
at Tk 618 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues
traded till then, 81 advanced, 123 declined and 35 issues remained
unchanged. BSRM Steels was the most traded stocks till then with shares
BDT 75 million changing hands followed by Quasem Drycells, Saif
Powertec, KDS Accessories and SPCL.The port city bourse – the CSE opened
positive with its Selective Category Index -- CSCX – gaining 5.17
points to stand at 8,563.33, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till
then, 46 gained, 38 declined and 25 issues remained unchanged with a
turnover value of Tk 50 million.
