Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade
























Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Biotech & Medical Care, Auto and Computers & Peripherals sectors led shares higher.
 

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.03% to hit a new 1-month high.


The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Genmont Biotec , which rose 9.89% or 2.30 points to trade at 25.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Precision  added 9.76% or 1.45 points to end at 16.30 and A.S.E.  was up 9.62% or 3.30 points to 37.60 in late trade.


The worst performers of the session were Tainan Cayman , which fell 8.26% or 0.18 points to trade at 2.00 at the close. Twn Styrene Mo  declined 7.05% or 1.35 points to end at 17.80 and Largan Precisi  was down 4.47% or 115.00 points to 2455.00.


Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 377 to 369 and 105 ended unchanged.


Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.22% or 0.07 to $28.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.03% or 0.01 to hit $32.19 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.28% or 3.40 to trade at $1204.80 a troy ounce.


USD/TWD was down 0.41% to 33.310, while TWD/CNY rose 0.31% to 0.1969.


The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.80.
