Philippines stocks higher at close of trade

 
Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Property and Holding Firms sectors led shares higher.
 

At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 2.27% to hit a new 1-month high.
 

The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 6.41% or 0.270 points to trade at 4.480 at the close. Meanwhile, Intl Container (PS:ICT) added 4.75% or 2.900 points to end at 64.000 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) was up 4.25% or 0.150 points to 3.680 in late trade.
 

The worst performers of the session were Bk Of Phi Isla (PS:BPI), which fell 1.07% or 0.90 points to trade at 83.05 at the close. Manila Electri (PS:MER) declined 0.30% or 1.000 points to end at 331.000 and First Gen (PS:FGEN) was down 0.25% or 0.05 points to 20.35.
 

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 111 to 61 and 26 ended unchanged.
 

Gold for April delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1231.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.31% or 0.45 to hit $33.95 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.11 to trade at $36.70 a barrel.
 

CNY/PHP was up 0.15% to 7.2188, while USD/PHP fell 0.13% to 47.280.
 

The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 98.41.
