Poland stocks higher at close of trade |
Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Food and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA, which rose 8.83% or 3.61 points to trade at 44.50 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA added 4.96% or 3.51 points to end at 74.34 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA was up 3.43% or 0.58 points to 17.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA, which fell 2.30% or 0.30 points to trade at 12.72 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA declined 2.02% or 1.81 points to end at 87.69 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA was down 1.18% or 0.06 points to 5.04.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 282 to 240 and 183 ended unchanged. Like to Visit More Bangladeshi IPO News
Shares in Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.43% or 0.58 to 17.50.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.23% or 1.33 to $42.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.94% or 1.26 to hit $44.17 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.76% or 21.70 to trade at $1256.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.26% to 4.2952, while USD/PLN fell 0.71% to 3.7778.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.48% at 94.00.
