Russia stocks higher at close of trade
Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Mining sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.88% to hit a new 5-year high.

The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Inter rao ees, which rose 6.62% or 0.1130 points to trade at 1.8200 at the close. Meanwhile, Aeroflot added 4.56% or 3.41 points to end at 78.21 and MMC Norilsk Nickel  was up 4.08% or 382.0 points to 9750.0 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Ros Agro PLC, which fell 2.42% or 27 points to trade at 1088 at the close. NLMK ao  declined 1.41% or 1.32 points to end at 92.01 and Akron  was down 1.32% or 50.0 points to 3725.0.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 130 to 93 and 25 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.81% to 32.530 a new 3-months low.

Gold for June delivery was down 1.20% or 15.00 to $1235.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.69% or 0.73 to hit $43.91 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.82% or 0.81 to trade at $45.34 a barrel.

USD/RUB was down 0.35% to 66.5988, while EUR/RUB fell 0.46% to 74.809.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 95.10.
