The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Thursday got its registration from the
Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) as demutualised
stock exchange, officials said.
The DSE officials said as per the registration issued by the RJSC, the premier bourse has emerged as the 23rd demutualised exchange of the world.
"The RJSC registration comes in line with the amendments brought in the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the DSE. The remaining small portion of completing demutualisation is the formation of 13-member board structure," said a DSE official.
He said the incumbent board of the premier bourse will hand over responsibility to the board, which will be formed as per the scheme approved by the securities regulator, within 90 days.
"The demutualisation process will be completed fully after getting responsibility by the 13-member board from the existing board," the official added.
The securities regulator approved the demutualisation scheme of the both the stock exchanges on September 26 last.
By this time, both the bourses have distributed trac certificates, the license of broking business, among their members.

Nokia hands over HQs to Microsoft
HELSINKI, Nov 21 : Finnish telecom equipment maker Nokia said on Thursday it would hand over its headquarters outside Helsinki to US software giant Microsoft, which has acquired the group's mobile business.
The building is located in Espoo, a suburb of the capital.
According to Nokia, most of the staff in the building work for the mobile division, which explains why it will house the Microsoft offices after the transaction is completed.
The employees who remain at Nokia, now focused on the telecom business, will be transferred to other buildings in Espoo.
Nokia's headquarters, a symbol of Finnish economic success in the 1990s and 2000s, will now also be a reminder of the fall of what was once the world's biggest mobile phone maker.
