Both DSE and CSE drop on Monday

Key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – dropped on Monday, the second trading day of the week, reports UNB.

The DSE key index, DSEX lost 46.69 points or one percent to close at 4608.05 on the day. Of the 314 issues traded, 77 gained, 196 declined and 41 remained unchanged. Shares worth Tk 456.50 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday as against Tk 557.63 crore was exchanged on Sunday. Far East Knitting & Dyeing topped the loser’s list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were IFIC Bank 1st Mutual Fund, Quasem Drycells, Premier Cement, Meghna Cement, KDS Accessories, Rupali Life Insurance , Aramit Cement, Aman Feed and Confidence Cement. The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Quasem Drycells, BSRM Steels, Aftab Automobiles, Saif Powertec and Grameenphone. 


Top five gainers at the DSE were Hakkani Pulp & Paper, GQ Ball Pen, Apex Spinning & Knitting, Legacy Footwear and Federal Insurance. The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI lost 173.04 points to reach 14062.11 at close on Monday. Of the 248 issues traded, 63 advanced, 153 suffered loss and 32 remained unchanged. The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 32.45 crore on the day. -Mithun
