At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.93%, while the ADX General index lost 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which rose 3.85% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.540 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 3.23% or 0.050 points to end at 1.600 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 2.56% or 0.010 points to 0.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB), which fell 4.53% or 0.290 points to trade at 6.110 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 2.52% or 0.017 points to end at 0.658 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was down 2.41% or 0.019 points to 0.771.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 7.01% to 2.90, Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which was up 4.84% to settle at 8.02 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 2.08% to close at 0.480.
The worst performers were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 8.89% to 0.82 in late trade, Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which lost 5.00% to settle at 1.90 and Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which was down 4.85% to 15.70 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 17 to 9 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 15 fell and 9 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.00% or 0.10 to 1.90.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.32% or 0.95 to $40.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.41% or 0.62 to hit $43.22 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 2.31% or 24.50 to trade at $1085.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.55% to 3.9975.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 98.27.
